We both love cooking and trying out new recipes, but we live on opposite coasts, so we rarely get to actually make and enjoy food together. So this is a way for us to share our cooking adventures with each other, and anyone else who's interested!

Cilantro Lemon Shrimp
A simple and tasty dinner, excluding the peeling and deveining of the shrimp (thanks, Jym!)
INGREDIENTS:
1.5 pounds shrimp, peeled & deveined
2 tsp brown sugar
2 T lemon juice
3 T cilantro, chopped
1 T balsamic
2 T whiskey hot sauce
HERE'S WHAT YOU DO:
Heat oil over high heat. Cook shrimp in oil until done. Turn heat down to low.
Mix remaining ingredients, season with salt & pepper. Pour over shrimp, stir to coat.
Serve over rice.

YUM- that sounds so good and looks easy! do you think it would still be good without the sugar?
ReplyDeletelove the whiskey hot sauce.
Hmm, the sweetness added a nice contrast to the spicy & tart. But maybe you could use something else—like fresh orange juice?
ReplyDeleteThe hot sauce has been great—we are almost out, I'm definitely going to make some more soon.
